Chapter 133: The Senior Brother from the Rumors

    No way, right?

Luo Mingchen suddenly felt that he had been a little neglectful of the three children in his daily life.

Just what on earth had each of them been learning?

Even Huo Yuhui’s books were all about military strategy and travelogues.

Luo Mingchen had originally wanted to say something, but then he thought again: learning a variety of things was still better than learning nothing at all.

Besides, Huo Xiang was still young now, the perfect time to build his foundation. Since he liked practicing martial arts, letting him learn more was good too—at least he wouldn’t be bullied in the future.

That whole day, Luo Mingchen stayed with the three children, his spiritual power spreading across the entire estate.

Toward dusk, Uncle Cheng went out once, but returned not even fifteen minutes later.

Thinking of this, Luo Mingchen stood up and said: “Zyuan, Hong Xing, Bai Xue, you three guard here properly.”

Hearing him specially give this instruction, all three sensed that something was wrong and grew much more alert. “Yes.”

    “Daddy!”

Seeing that Luo Mingchen was about to leave, Huo Xinyue couldn’t bear it and flung herself over, hugging his waist.

“Yueyue, be good. Daddy has a little something to take care of. Wait for me here for a while.”

After listening, Huo Xinyue let out a sigh and sat back down on the bed. “Alright then.”

Luo Mingchen smiled and rubbed her little head before opening the door and going out.

After he left, Huo Yuhui closed his book and gazed out at the snowy scene beyond the window, frowning slightly.

Their little dad would never stay by their side for so long if nothing was wrong. The only explanation was that this place wasn’t safe.

    Who exactly was it?

They were too weak, unable to help in any way, so they could only stay here and wait.

Outside, Luo Mingchen went to look for Uncle Cheng.

He encountered him in the corridor. Luo Mingchen stepped forward with a smile and said: “Uncle Cheng, didn’t you say you had to go out? How come you came back so quickly?”

Uncle Cheng froze for a moment, then smiled and said: “Master Luo, I came back as soon as I finished my errand. I just went to the military physician to get some medicine for colds.”

    “Really?”

Luo Mingchen’s smile was dazzling as his water tentacles instantly bound Uncle Cheng. “Then your legs must be really fast—such a long distance and you came back this quickly. And where’s the medicine you brought back? Why don’t I see it?”

“Uncle Cheng” furrowed his brows. He didn’t understand why Luo Mingchen was so certain that he hadn’t brought back any medicine.

Seeing him remain silent, Luo Mingchen reached out to rub his face and, sure enough, found a layer of skin by the earlobe.

To be honest, Luo Mingchen was rather excited to see this.

So this was the disguise technique from TV dramas—he was actually seeing it with his own eyes.

With a sharp tug, the layer came off, revealing underneath a young-looking man with somewhat delicate, foxlike features.

Luo Mingchen was certain he had never seen him before, so he asked: “Who are you?”

The man curved his lips into a smile. “Guess.”

So Luo Mingchen smacked him on the head. “Guess my ass!”

Taking the opportunity, the man pinched two Soul-Capturing Fruits in his hand, yet Luo Mingchen showed no reaction at all. The water tentacles just yanked him along.

    “Xiao Chen, Zhu Qing!”

With two shouts, before long the two of them appeared like wraiths before Luo Mingchen. When they saw the man dressed in Uncle Cheng’s clothes, they froze for a moment.

They really hadn’t expected that this “Uncle Cheng” was actually someone else in disguise.

Luo Mingchen noticed the Soul-Capturing Fruits in the man’s hand and frowned.

He was certain he was still conscious, but worried that maybe it was just the illusion of being conscious, so he smacked the man on the head again. “Does that hurt?”

“Tsk! If you want to know whether you’re trapped in an illusion, can’t you just pinch yourself?”

Luo Mingchen answered righteously: “That hurts more.”

    The man: “
”

“The fact that you can talk this much shows you didn’t fall for it. You two tie him up tighter and take him to Huo Yan.”

Although Luo Mingchen could also bind him with his water tentacles, that was a bit too conspicuous—ropes were more reliable.

    “Yes.”

Xiao Chen responded and quickly fetched a bundle of hemp rope.

Just as the water tentacles disappeared, the man flung a handful of silvery powder.

A strange fragrance spread in the air, covering the three of them completely.

Luo Mingchen blinked—honestly, it smelled quite nice.

Xiao Chen and Zhu Qing looked at Luo Mingchen nervously, terrified that he might be poisoned.

“You forced me to do this
”

Before the man could finish speaking and make a run for it, Xiao Chen pressed him down firmly.

    “Master Luo! Are you alright?”

Luo Mingchen shook his head. “I’m fine.”

Seeing that, the man’s eyes went wide—none of the three of them had fallen for it.

He seriously suspected that he had used the wrong poison

    “You all
 are fine?”

Luo Mingchen was certain now. Ever since his ability had leveled up, he was indeed immune to all poisons.

He had only ever heard high-level ability users mention this, and now it was happening to him. Honestly, he didn’t feel much of anything.

As for Xiao Chen and Zhu Qing, the two of them were shadow guards with strong resistance to drugs.

    “Surprised? Unexpected?”

    The man: “
”

“Alright, enough nonsense. Save your words for later.”

With that, Xiao Chen and Zhu Qing tied the man up in a proper five-flower bind and followed Luo Mingchen to find Huo Yan.

As someone who had been in this world for less than a year, Luo Mingchen only half understood most things here. If the language was similar, he wouldn’t even be able to tell if someone was from another country, let alone guess at any plots or conspiracies.

This man had sneaked in here, so saying he was harmless was clearly a lie.

So, it was better to bring him to Huo Yan—having him interrogate would be more reliable and harder to fool.

When they arrived, Luo Mingchen went straight up to knock on the door, and no one stopped him.

Inside, Huo Yan, who had been in the middle of discussions, paused.

“Didn’t I say not to let anyone in
”

Liu Chang, who went to open the door, didn’t even finish before seeing Luo Mingchen. Smiling, he said: “Ah, it’s Brother Luo. Then it’s fine.”

If he scolded Luo Mingchen, Huo Yan might just pin him to the floor and beat him up.

“I caught someone in the estate. Do you all want to take a look?”

Though he said this to everyone, his eyes were fixed on Huo Yan.

Remembering last night’s Soul-Capturing Fruit, Huo Yan nodded. “Alright.”

Xiao Chen and Zhu Qing brought the man inside.

The group carefully examined him, yet not a single one of them recognized him.

Luo Mingchen felt that the man’s age didn’t match what Huo Yan had said about his master. But this wasn’t absolute, so after bringing him in, he first looked to Huo Yan.

But Huo Yan didn’t recognize him either.

Ruan Feng ventured: “Is he perhaps a spy from Beiyue Kingdom?”

Ji Bowen said: “Doesn’t really seem like it.”

The man, who had given up struggling, said bitterly: “I only came here to find my junior brother.”

Luo Mingchen asked: “What junior brother?”

The man looked straight at Huo Yan and said: “There, him.”

The Huo family soldiers all turned their eyes toward Huo Yan, their gazes full of surprise, curiosity, doubt
all speculating about Huo Yan’s past identity.

But Luo Mingchen said: “You say he’s your junior brother, and that makes it true? If he’s really your junior brother, then why sneak around, using disguise to impersonate Uncle Cheng and slip in?”

Hearing that, the others thought it made sense.

Not far away, Xiao Lin stared at the man, and suddenly a possibility occurred to him.

Huo Yan asked: “What’s your name? Who is your master?”

The man replied: “Hua Yaoyue. As for master
didn’t he jump off a cliff right in front of you? Don’t tell me you don’t know.”

Hearing that name, Luo Mingchen fell silent.

    That name
really sounded like a girl’s name.

    Xiao Lin’s eyes widened abruptly.

So Hua Yaoyue was actually a man?!
