    Chapter 12

“Everyone, thank you for your hard work. That’s the end of today’s shoot.”

“Thank you for your hard work!”

A long and exhausting day had come to an end. Back in his room, Lee Jiwoon sat on the bed without even changing clothes, resting his chin on his hand. Like a statue of “The Thinker,” he had been speculating for a while.

Who did the director choose? Ah, I’m so curious.

    “I want to know
 I need to know.”

As Jiwoon muttered to himself, his phone suddenly rang. The caller was BBG.

    “Ah, that scared me.”

He had spoken with him on the phone plenty of times before, but guilt made his heart drop. Clearing his throat, Jiwoon grabbed the phone.

    “Hello.”

    —Are you in your room?

    “Yes. Why?”

—Come out and head to the emergency stairs at the end of the hall.

    “What?”

    —Right now.

The call ended. Jiwoon didn’t know what this was about, but he quietly opened the door and walked to the end of the hallway. When he opened the emergency exit door, Seo Taecheon was standing there.

    “Oh?! Director.”

    “Let’s go.”

    “Huh? Go where?”

“Did you forget? Today’s the day we take the bed selfie.”

    “Oh, right!”

He had been so busy and distracted all day that he’d almost forgotten something important.

Since Seo Taecheon’s room was just one floor up, it was connected via stairs. Though he could go up right away, Jiwoon was conscious of the fact that he hadn’t washed yet.

“I’ll stop by my room, wash up, and then come up.”

“What for? You can just wash and lie down in my room.”

“No, I also need to take my suppressant
.”

“Ah. Then wash up and come.”

Jiwoon promised to come up within 30 minutes and returned to his room. After washing up and swallowing his suppressant, he carefully opened the door again.

Worried he might bump into someone, he looked around anxiously as he made his way to Seo Taecheon’s room and timidly rang the bell. Before long, Taecheon opened the door.

But instead of his usual black robe, he was wearing a gray one.

Huh? He’s not wearing his usual black robe? Doesn’t this resort stock black ones? No
he’s the kind of guy who would bring his own for sure
.

    “Come in.”

    “Yes.”

Entering the luxurious suite, Jiwoon admired the fancy furniture and the living room that was practically the size of a sports field, then walked into the bedroom.

On the side table next to the bed sat an open bottle of wine, as if someone had been drinking it earlier.

    “Oh? Were you drinking wine?”

    “Yes.”

    “The aroma’s amazing
 it looks delicious.”

With its obviously luxurious label and rich fragrance, Jiwoon, who loved anything delicious—whether food or alcohol—was intrigued.

    “Want to try some?”

    “Really?”

    “There’s another glass.”

Seo Taecheon took a wine glass from the minibar and set it on the table. Jiwoon sat across from him, somewhat clumsily, and accepted the drink.

    “Wow
the color is beautiful and it looks delicious.”

“The head chef here recommended it, so it must be good wine. I don’t know if it’ll suit your taste, but give it a try.”

Jiwoon took a sip of the wine. It wasn’t too bitter, and the aroma spread in his mouth, with a sweet finish.

    “Wow! This is amazing!”

    “Is it good?”

    “It’s not just good—it’s fantastic.”

    “Then have another glass.”

Seo Taecheon handed him a second glass. Jiwoon, delighted, drank several more glasses in succession. As he continued, his face grew hot and he started to lose control.

    “Ah
 this feels gooood. One more!”

“You seem really drunk. How about stopping there?”

“Who says I’m drunk! Nonsense! Hey!”

Jiwoon grabbed the bottle and poured wine into his glass with a flourish. Taecheon tried to stop him, but the drunken Jiwoon was unstoppable.

“How are we going to take a selfie like this? Stop drinking.”

“Selfie?! Why can’t we take one! Let’s do it!”

Jiwoon wrapped his arms around Taecheon’s neck. It was more like yanking than a romantic pull.

    “Mr. Lee, hold on.”

“Let’s do it! Let’s take a fiery one!”

Jiwoon giggled and pulled Taecheon up.

“To the bed~! Let’s all lie down, one and all.”

Drunk to the core, Jiwoon even broke into some nonsensical song, staggering around. As he headed toward the terrace instead of the bed, Taecheon firmly grabbed his wrist.

    “Huh?!”

Hiccup. Jiwoon hiccupped with bleary eyes.

“The bed you should be going to is over here, not that way.”

Seo Taecheon’s gaze as he said this was dark and intense. Even in his drunken state, Jiwoon could feel the man’s strong grip, his scent, and the dangerous atmosphere.

    Gulp. He swallowed unconsciously.

    “Come with me.”

Seo Taecheon pulled Jiwoon by the wrist toward the bed. With Taecheon walking in large strides, Jiwoon had no choice but to stumble along behind, letting out a startled “Whoa—” as he went.

Then suddenly—whoosh, his vision spun. Jiwoon was flat on the bed. And then, both his wrists were pinned tightly to the mattress.

    “Huh
?”

“Stay still. You’ll get hurt if you move.”

Seo Taecheon spoke low as he gripped Jiwoon’s wrists even harder. Jiwoon’s face turned bright red in an instant.

    Am I
 crazy? My heart’s racing.

Looking up from below, Seo Taecheon’s face looked disturbingly sculpted. A sharp jawline, a tall, masculine nose, and dark irises hidden beneath double-lid-less eyes.

With the raw, untamed scent unique to alphas wafting over him, Jiwoon’s face flushed even more.

“You must be really drunk. Your face is red.”

    “Ah
 th-that’s because.”

“It’s okay. I’ll take care of everything.”

He said they were going to take a selfie, but to Lee Jiwoon’s ears, the words sounded oddly suggestive.

    “Let’s get ready first.”

    “Get
 ready.”

    “We need to be careful.”

    “Careful
.”

“Stay still. Just relax. Yes, like that. Leave your body to me.”

    Leave my body. My body.

Completely losing his senses, Jiwoon couldn’t even tell if the man in front of him was the director or not. It was the result of a rapid surge in intoxication.

    “
Please take care of it
”

    “Alright. Now, lie down comfortably.”

Jiwoon let his whole body go limp and collapsed. Seo Taecheon let go of his wrists and lay down beside him. Their shoulders and forearms touched, and the heat made Jiwoon bite his lip.

“Don’t bite your lips. You’ll hurt them.”

    “Ah, okay
.”

Seo Taecheon picked up his phone and framed the two of them. Click. The sound of a photo being taken echoed.

    “Are you sleepy?”

    “Yes
 very.”

    “Then go to sleep.”

    “Mmm
.”

Jiwoon softly closed his eyes. A warm hand brushed back his hair and gently caressed his forehead.

As if being sucked into a distant dream, Jiwoon completely lost consciousness.

The next morning, Jiwoon woke up with a headache. The hangover from the wine was intense.

    “Ugh
”

Holding his throbbing head, he tried to sit up, but the bed was so warm.

Does this Jeju resort have heated mattress pads or something
? This is on another level. So cozy and nice.

As he thought that and snuggled into the warm mattress, a familiar silhouette appeared in front of him.

    “Gasp.”

What was wrapped around Jiwoon’s body wasn’t a heated mat but a person radiating body heat. Seo Taecheon had one arm draped over Jiwoon, and the two of them were sleeping face-to-face.

W-What is this position? Why am I sleeping here holding onto this person?

Jiwoon began piecing together fragments of memory like a puzzle.

I must have gotten too drunk from the wine and just passed out.

How embarrassing. Should I try to escape? Jiwoon broke into a cold sweat and began to slowly wriggle out of Seo Taecheon’s embrace.

At that moment, Seo Taecheon’s strong arm stretched out and grabbed Jiwoon. With a powerful grip, Jiwoon couldn’t move.

    W-What the
!

    “Sleep more
”

Seo Taecheon murmured in a low voice. Then he fell quiet again.

What the heck. Is he doing this in his sleep? Did he even know it was me he was holding?

Jiwoon was so startled that his heart pounded. With no choice, he lay back down, but sleep wouldn’t come. Instead, his mind grew sharper. His vision cleared, and he could see Taecheon’s face clearly.

Faint dawn light was beginning to filter through the window. The room was still very dark, but his sharply defined features, like they’d been drawn with a deep pencil, couldn’t be hidden.

It had been over a month since they’d shared a bed as a married couple, but this was the first time Jiwoon observed him sleeping so peacefully. Usually, Jiwoon fell asleep first and woke up late.

By the time he woke up in the morning, Seo Taecheon had already washed and was downing black coffee on an empty stomach, so there had never been a chance to see him asleep.

He really sleeps quietly. No snoring, even his breathing is soft. If only he didn’t hold onto me, he’d be a decent bed partner

    Who am I kidding—decent?

Jiwoon carefully moved the heavy arm wrapped around him and gently slipped out of bed. Thankfully, Seo Taecheon seemed to be in a deep sleep, didn’t open his eyes, and didn’t try to stop him.
