Prologue
âBeuli, come here.â
Under the warm-toned lighting, the manâs eyes curved like a crescent moon. Watching his pretty eye smile, Seolgu shuffled toward him with hesitant steps. Even though this had already happened several times, it was inevitable for him to tremble and for his heart to pound wildly each time.
The man who called Seolgu âBeuliâ pulled his arm with strong force the moment Seolgu came closer.
âUwah!â
Seolgu collapsed onto the soft sofa with a thump and looked at the man with wide eyes. The man gave him the same charming eye smile as before.
âBeuli, hand.â
Treating him as though he were talking to a dog, the man held out his palm, and Seolgu quickly extended his hand toward him. The man patted Seolguâs head before observing the hand that had been placed onto his broad palm.
The dark pupils in the manâs eyes narrowed slightly.
âDid you wash your hands?â
âYes, yes! I washed them three times and rubbed them twice with disinfectant gel, just in caseâŠ.â
Seolgu nodded his head vigorously in response to the manâs question, emphasizing how meticulously he had cleaned himself. Then, worried that there might still be some unpleasant odor, he once more brought his palm up to the tip of his nose.
Sniff sniff.
Seolguâs small nostrils twitched. Seeing that, the corners of the manâs lips rose higher and higher.
âThis time too, it looks like there wonât be any upset stomach after eating.â
âYes, yes! There wonât be any accidents!â
âGood. Then, let me enjoy my meal.â
âYes, please enjoy it!â
Hearing that simple and docile reply, the man who had taken Seolguâs handâBan Dayeongâcould not help but let out a laugh.
Baek Seolgu was always foolish and recklessly carefree. Did he even realize whose blood was being consumed right at this moment? In any case, it was much easier than him putting up a fuss and saying he hated it.
Ban Dayeong put Seolguâs second finger into his mouth. A faint pulse could be felt at the fingertip. Delighted by that steady throbbing, he smacked his lips, then pressed down with his jaw.
At that moment, Seolguâs skin was pierced by the sharp tips of his fangs, and a burst of bright red blood welled up. Ban Dayeongâs eyes flashed. He sucked hard at Seolguâs fingertip, drawing it in deep. The suction was so intense that a small moan escaped Seolguâs lips.
âAh, ngh!â
âDoes it hurt?â
âNo, it doesnât hurt, itâs just⊠the feeling⊠itâs so strange.â
Seolgu shook his head furiously in response to Ban Dayeongâs question.
Having his blood sucked was something that happened once every few days. Each time, no matter how much Seolgu resolved to endure with composure, his body betrayed him, and strange sounds continued to spill out of his mouth against his will.
Each time Seolgu flinched slightly or let the faintest sound escape, Ban Dayeong always asked, âAre you alright?â to check on his state. He really was a thoughtful manâor rather, a thoughtful vampire.
Seolgu thought to himself that even if his blood was drained every day, it would be fine, as long as it meant he could see him more often.
