    Chapter 18

Liu He didn’t think much of it. He had caught up on quite a few of Yun Jingqiu’s works and had seen many of the roles he had played.

This was the first time he had seen the “wandering boy” character—he hadn’t gotten around to this film yet.

The movie was really brilliant, and Liu He was soon absorbed by the plot, completely ignoring Yun Jingqiu sitting beside him.

When he concentrated, he would unconsciously block out everything happening around him.

He didn’t even know when Yun Jingqiu had left.

The only thing he noticed was a cool, sweet, juicy fruit pressed against his lips. He instinctively opened his mouth, letting the apple slip inside, chewing and swallowing unconsciously, then opening his mouth for another piece.

By the time his stomach was filled with fruit, Liu He finally snapped back to his senses.

“When did you prepare the fruit?”

“When you were completely absorbed in the movie,” Yun Jingqiu replied.

Liu He felt a little embarrassed, so he continued watching the movie, quickly falling back into the storyline.

When the film ended, it was already time for bed.

Liu He stretched, yawned, and got ready to sleep.

While Liu He had been watching the movie, Yun Jingqiu occasionally glanced at the computer screen, then back at Liu He.

But Liu He had been too focused to notice his gaze.

Liu He stood up, thought for a moment, and said to Yun Jingqiu:

    “Goodnight.”

He started to walk past Yun Jingqiu, but a hand suddenly grabbed his wrist.

Yun Ge was strong, and Liu He couldn’t break free even if he tried. Not that he planned to struggle with brute force anyway.

He stopped, looking at Yun Jingqiu in puzzlement.

“Goodnight kiss,” Yun Jingqiu said, completely matter-of-fact.

    Liu He: ?

“No, that’s too fast,” he refused.

Yun Jingqiu’s expression instantly fell. He looked at Liu He pitifully, lowering his voice:

“Not even just on the cheek? Like last time?”

    Liu He relented: “That’s fine.”

He thought it was going to be a kiss on the lips. That would have been way too embarrassing.

But a cheek kiss was acceptable—after all, they had done that before.

Yun Jingqiu immediately stood up, pulling Liu He’s arm with his free hand so that the two of them were pressed close together.

They were both in pajamas, the fabric thin enough that even through it, they could feel each other’s warmth.

Before Liu He could even get embarrassed, he felt the heat of lips brushing his cheek.

It was a simple kiss, but the atmosphere was so charged it left Liu He flustered. His face turned red, and so did his ears.

His gaze shifted away, not daring to meet Yun Jingqiu’s eyes. His voice was small:

“You’ve had your goodnight kiss. I’m leaving now.”

“Wait—what about my goodnight kiss from Xiao He?” Yun Jingqiu let go of his hand and pointed to his own cheek.

“I gave you mine. Courtesy demands reciprocity, right? Shouldn’t you give me one too?”

Liu He couldn’t argue with him—and honestly, Yun Ge made sense.

Yun Ge’s face was so close, right in front of him. His skin was flawless, pores nearly invisible. His lashes were long and curled, and his eyes
too attractive. Everywhere Liu He looked, it was captivating.

Accidentally meeting Yun Jingqiu’s gaze, Liu He panicked, tiptoed quickly, and pecked him on the cheek. Then, rubbing his lips nervously, he blurted out:

    “I’m going!”

    Head down, he bolted.

This time, Yun Jingqiu didn’t stop him.

Liu He returned to the guest bedroom without issue. Closing the door, he leaned against it and let out a long breath.

He had kissed Yun Ge—even if it was just on the cheek.

Still, it was way too ambiguous!

Blushing, Liu He calmed himself down in the room, brushed his teeth, and climbed into bed, burying his head under the blanket.

His phone buzzed on the bedside table, lighting up the screen.

Liu He reached out blindly, finally grabbing it.

    【187 Boyfriend: Goodnight】

    【fon: Goodnight】

    Liu He replied.

Placing the phone back on the nightstand, he closed his eyes and drifted off.

If living together felt any different from before, it was that every day he got to eat delicious meals made by the assistant, and every day he got to see Yun Jingqiu’s ridiculously handsome face in real life.

The bed was comfortable, and though he sometimes got shy being around Yun Ge, most of the time he felt relaxed.

    And then there was

Yun Ge spending way too much money on him!!

The watch he had received when they first met offline—after checking—cost 270,000 yuan.Âč

Now, the wardrobe in the guest bedroom was crammed full of clothes:

formal suits, casual coats, jackets, hoodies—even private underwear, with dozens of new pairs.

Liu He couldn’t help wondering how Yun Jingqiu even knew his underwear size. After all, something that private
how could you buy it without knowing?

His quality of life had skyrocketed.

Eating well, sleeping well—his efficiency at writing papers and doing experiments during the day had improved significantly.

On their days off, the two of them stayed home watching movies and playing board games.

Since Yun Jingqiu’s face was far too recognizable, they didn’t go out on dates.

Instead, they chose to date at home.

Ten days into living together, Liu He had grown used to, and could now calmly accept, “goodnight kisses” and “good morning kisses.”

Yun Jingqiu’s arm was recovering well. After a hospital recheck, he still needed to keep the cast for another week.

He was preparing to return to the Crossing the River film crew and start dieting again—he had put on some weight lately.

His vacation still had half a month left. After the cast came off, he would need to start rehab on his left arm.

On one of Liu He’s rare rest days, the two of them were in the living room watching a movie. At some point, they both dozed off.

The film was boring, and Liu He quickly lost interest. He’d been working nonstop for days, and his body was tired. Relaxed to the extreme, his body slowly tilted sideways and slumped over.

He fell toward Yun Jingqiu, who leaned back a little, letting Liu He’s head land on his lap.

Lowering his gaze, Yun Jingqiu turned the movie volume down.

When the young man’s breathing became steady against his legs, Yun Jingqiu gently pulled a blanket from the side and covered Liu He with it.

Every move was careful, afraid to disturb him.

When Liu He woke up, he felt like he hadn’t rested well at all. His whole body was uncomfortable, like he’d been punched a few times.

Instinctively, he reached for his phone to check the time. Instead of his phone, however, his hand brushed against something warm, firm, and elastic.

    Uncertain, he touched it again.

His hand was unconsciously groping Yun Jingqiu’s abs.

Yun Jingqiu tried to hold back but couldn’t, sucking in a sharp breath.

Hearing the sound, Liu He opened his eyes in confusion. His view was filled with a strange angle of Yun Jingqiu’s face.

Before he could react, he felt something pressed against his cheek.

    Warm, soft, and oddly comfortable.

Half-asleep, Liu He instinctively rubbed against it. Only after a while did he realize—and immediately jumped away.

His face flushed scarlet, his eyes wide, pupils constricting in disbelief as he stared at Yun Jingqiu.

“You—” He pointed a finger at Yun Jingqiu, then lowered it, then raised it again, finally pointing at his face. He didn’t care anymore if it seemed rude.

“You didn’t even remind me? Why are you still
” hard.

    Yun Jingqiu looked innocent:

“It was you who woke up and started feeling me all over. So what if I had a reaction to the person I like? And now you’re blaming me?”

Liu He was speechless. Now fully awake, he couldn’t even look at Yun Jingqiu anymore.

He blinked despairingly, silently grabbed his phone, and turned to leave.

“You’re just going to abandon me like this?” Yun Jingqiu accused.

    “You started this—you finish it.”

“You deal with it yourself,” Liu He muttered. “This time it’s my fault.”

Messing around with someone the moment he woke up, leaving them aroused and then running away—Liu He realized he was basically acting like a scumbag.

“No way! You have to take responsibility!” Yun Jingqiu refused to back down.

If Xiao He kept being such a turtle, when would their relationship ever progress? Xiao He wouldn’t even let him kiss his lips!

Yun Jingqiu admitted it—he was desperate.

“Think of it as mutual help?” Yun Jingqiu quickly caught up, wrapped one arm around Liu He’s waist, and whispered against his ear:

“I’ll help Xiao He too. You haven’t done it in a long time either, right?”

Âč 270,000 yuan ≈ 37,000 USD, a luxury price point showing Yun Jingqiu’s level of extravagance.
