Hero Hunter is on Parental Leave C75
by berryChapter 75
From the very first moment…
Did he mean when they were sixteen?
Yeongung searched his memories for his first meeting with Won Iheun. If their recollections matched, then that must be it.
“But back then…”
Liking someone from the first moment was practically love at first sight. Back during the gate incident where Yeongung rescued Won Sahun, young Iheun hadn’t had any reason to fall for him at all. It really was a strange taste.
Well—he had cleared the monsters cleanly.
Maybe he liked strong people?
Or maybe Yeongung had looked like someone who didn’t quite belong in the team, hovering on the outside, and that caught his attention?
He wanted to hear more. Badly.
But he couldn’t. If his selfish curiosity triggered the restriction, Iheun would be the one to suffer.
“…Back then?”
Iheun pressed gently.
Yeongung shook his head.
“No. Let’s ride something else before it gets dark.”
Yeongung trudged down the stairs, one hand clamped over his mouth like he might throw up at any second. His already pale skin had gone ashen.
“Hyung… honestly, if you hadn’t awakened as a hunter—”
“What. I’d be hopeless?”
Yeongung shot back.
Iheun’s mournful expression twisted Yeongung’s stomach for real.
“Ugh.”
It felt like morning sickness all over again—the kind he’d only had briefly early in pregnancy. He grabbed the railing and sank down on the steps.
“I’m dizzy…”
So this was motion sickness. Riding things with mana or telekinesis had never caused this, but this—this was different.
Their bet to not use mana was still in effect. Iheun stopped teasing and sat a few steps below, handing him cold water.
“Still bad?”
A cool palm covered Yeongung’s forehead. After a sip of water, Yeongung exhaled.
“…I’m better now.”
Having witnessed Yeongung’s disastrous stamina all day, Iheun spoke seriously.
“This won’t do. Hyung—starting tomorrow, work out with me.”
“Work out? With you?”
Yeongung snorted. Won Iheun might be an excellent trainer to others, but to Yeongung, he was the worst.
He’d tried once.
One-on-one training in a private gym.
If he looked away for even a moment, he’d end up half-naked. Light touches turned into caresses, and those turned into sex.
Sex was exercise, sure—but it completely defeated the purpose. After their warlike encounters, he didn’t get stronger. He just needed recovery.
“I’ll learn from Sanghui instead.”
“I’m not okay with that.”
Iheun’s brow furrowed sharply.
The moment Yeongung mentioned another alpha, irritation flared. Yeongung crossed his arms around Iheun’s neck to soothe him.
“Won Iheun. Release your pheromones. I think it’ll help my stomach. Please?”
It was rare for Yeongung to ask like that. The small, uncharacteristic bit of sweetness melted Iheun instantly.
“…Where did you learn that?”
“From you. You do it to me all the time.”
The moment Iheun relaxed, Yeongung slipped out of his arms, perfectly fine again.
Used and abandoned, Iheun bit Yeongung’s ear.
“Don’t eat me. Let’s eat actual food. I’m hungry.”
“You were about to puke.”
“I’m fine now.”
“Then what do you want to eat?”
Yeongung rested his chin in his hand, thinking.
“Tacos. I’m craving Mexican.”
The word came out easily. Ever since raising Jaehee, Yeongung had avoided spicy food. Jaehee copied everything he did—whatever Yeongung ate, the kid wanted too.
When Yeongung had been raising him alone, everything felt dangerous. The safest option had been to remove temptation entirely.
He rarely cooked. Often, he ate convenience store leftovers or a few spoonfuls of plain rice after Jaehee fell asleep.
He missed shrimp tacos—the ones he used to eat in Seoul. But after handing over all his assets to Sayoung as contract collateral, even tacos felt like luxury.
“There’s one Mexican place on Muhaedo. I never went. I really want tacos today.”
“If hyung wants them, we eat them.”
“But do they even sell Mexican food in a theme park…?”
“I told you—don’t worry about small things.”
Iheun took his hand.
They passed a kids’ shop packed with colorful merchandise.
“Want to go in?”
“Yeah. It reminds me of Jaehee.”
Inside, still no staff. Yeongung relaxed and browsed.
He picked up a pink bunny pajama set.
“This. It’d suit Jaehee.”
“Let’s just buy everything animal-themed.”
“…Yeah.”
For once, Yeongung agreed wholeheartedly.
“I’ll take this one now. Shipping to Muhaedo takes time.”
He wanted to see Jaehee in it as soon as possible.
“Yeah. It’ll be adorable.”
Then Yeongung’s smartwatch buzzed.
Sanghui.
Check the portal headlines.
Yeongung pulled out his phone.
[Breaking] Hunter Association Statement: “Yeongung was on leave, not missing… Return imminent”
Expected. He frowned slightly at return imminent.
Then the next headlines—
- Kim Rahee: “My ideal type isn’t Won Iheun—it’s Hunter Yeongung”
- Tako Guild Master Won Iheun denies arranged marriage rumors
So she really hadn’t known. Still—him being her ideal type was unexpected.
And finally—
- Won Iheun: ‘I have a real partner’—Legal action against false rumors
Yeongung looked up slowly.
“Won Iheun… I think you owe me an explanation.”
